• Who do I call if my boiler breakdown and is it under warranty?

  If we installed your boiler, call us. We can do initial over the phone checks to make sure there are no unnecessary call out charges. However if we need to come out to your home we will as soon as possible. As a company MJ Taylor Plumbing and Heating prioritise boiler breakdowns and the homes of the elderly and vulnerable.

• How long is my boiler warranty?

  This very much depends on which boiler you buy. The warranty will depend on the make, model, and manufacturer. It will also depend on whether you have had the boiler serviced every 12 months and fitted within the guidelines of the manufacturer.

• How often does my boiler need servicing?

  Every 12 months without fail! Why not plan ahead and have your boiler serviced and have a Boiler Health Check carried out during the warmer periods, where extra work can be carried out without leaving you in the cold.

• Is it more economical to turn my heating off when I'm out of the house in the winter or just turn the thermostat down?

• If I am having an electric shower fitted do I need an electrician as well as a plumber to install it?

  No, we can do both, as qualified plumbing and heating engineers we are classed as competent to work on electrical appliances within the services we provide.

• Would electric or water underfloor heating work best?

  This will depend on location and required usage. Will the underfloor heating be used as a primary heat or a secondary under foot warmer? Give us a call and we can help you make the right decision for your home.

• Can I have underfloor heating with a combi boiler?

• What flooring can be laid on underfloor heating?

  Multiple types of flooring can be used. However some types of flooring are more efficient and work better, contact us to discuss further.

• Will underfloor heating effect the floor height?

• Can underfloor heating be retro fitted?

  There is a solution for every style of flooring.

  Suspended floors can be overlaid or pipework fitted below and concrete floors can have an overlay system. Don’t worry if you already have radiators the underfloor heating can be added to your current system.

• Do you install instant boil hot taps? Like Quooker taps?

  Yes we do. There are some fabulous instant boil hot taps on the market. Some also filtered and have a sparkling water function. An excellent way to clear space on your work surface and save time waiting for the kettle to boil.

• Why do you charge a call out fee?

  We often get asked this, a lot of companies don’t charge a call out fee which we feel can be misleading, as no company can afford to work or operate for free. Our upfront call out fee covers the call out and up to the first hours labour and/or diagnostics of the problem, to which we will need to quote, order parts and return another day to suit you. 

   

  So within the call out fee you are paying for our many years of experience and our highly trained engineers qualifications to troubleshoot the plumbing or heating issue in your home quickly and efficiantly.

• How can I avoid my drains becoming blocked?
